Q: What is a personal favorite quote?

“I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn’t say any other way—things I had no words for.”

– Georgia O’Keeffe

Q: What is your favorite activity when you aren’t working?

A: Painting is my absolute favorite activity, when I’m not painting commissioned pieces though I am working on my own personal art projects. Also, gardening. Nature inspires my art tremendously.

Q: When did you create your business, and what inspired you to start this specific business venture?

A: I lost my job due to Covid so I was kind of thrown into starting my business but looking back, it was a time of healing for me.

Q: Why was it important for you to create your business?

A: I’m the baby of my family. Anyone that is also the baby in their family might be able to understand what I am about to say and that is, I wanted something that was so authentically me.

Q: If you could go back in time and give yourself any advice during the first year of your business, what would it be?

A: Things take time. Ideas, inspiration, ART. Don’t rush yourself.

Q: What is your favorite part about working with/supporting your specific clients?

A: As a creative, there is nothing better than combining two creative minds. When they give me a vision, it’s like a window into their creative process – which only inspires my own process.

Q: Where can our community find you?

A: My business page on Instagram is @shopwilderrose, where I feature products and watercolor art. I do have another page, @jilliaanclaire, where I feature acrylics and oils.

Q: What does confidence mean to you?

A: Personally, confidence is about self-reflection and understanding myself, what I want, what I like and dislike, and not apologizing for those things that make me – me.
