Deck the halls, don the looks

Hey, Style Slayers — Happy Moda Monday!

Welcome Inside the Closet! In this edition, we’re sharing 1 quest, 2 tips, and 3 looks to help you embrace your unique style superpowers — Let’s step in! 👇

1 Quest for you to try

This week, you are pushing the boundaries of conventional style by building a look that’s festive, fun, and uniquely you! However, here’s the challenge: combine a traditional holiday fashion feature (such as sparkle, velvet, or traditional holiday colors) with something unexpected (like combat boots, denim, or a graphic tee!). It’s time to deck those halls by donning your holiday-inspired look!

How to participate

  1. Choose: Select a “holiday” inspired piece – think of items that sparkle with sequins or glitter, metallic detailing, festive color choices, or layers that include textures like velvet, satin, or flannel.
  2. Create: Style your holiday piece with something unexpected – for example, a nod to your favorite fandom with a themed scarf, a bold option like colorful combat boots, or some unique accessories).
  3. Capture: Share your outfit with #VostraModaQuest, or reply to this email with your entry.

2 Tips to help you slay

The holiday season is in full swing, and it’s time to bring your style A-game! Whether you’re attending a cozy family dinner, a sparkly New Year’s bash, or just want to sprinkle holiday cheer into your everyday wardrobe, we’ve got you covered with tips to dazzle and outfit ideas to make your season even brighter.

If you want to embrace a specific holiday with this challenge, think about the color palettes you most often see used and how you can integrate those with this week’s challenge. For example, if you want to embrace some Christmas Cheer, red and green are traditionally popular Christmas colors that can be combined with a tartan plaid scarf, neutral blouse, and a red satin pant! Or get ready to celebrate New Year’s Eve early with hues of black, silver, and gold throughout your blazer, and incorporate some unique accessories from Etsy!

Our style suggestions

  1. Mix and match traditional items with modern styling. For example, a traditional holiday piece like a tartan plaid scarf can be paired with green pleather pants and a metallic thread top for an edgier outfit.
  2. Find inspiration in Holiday color palettes. Even if you don’t have a variety of textures, you can color-block your outfit with two or more choices to create your own festive fashion, or choose a monochrome look with one specific color choice!
