Hey, Style Slayers — Happy Moda Monday!

Welcome Inside the Closet! In this edition, we’re sharing 1 quest, 2 tips, and 3 looks to help you embrace your unique style superpowers — Let’s step in! 👇

1 Quest for you to try

During this time of year, when a season of celebration is around the corner, it feels like the perfect time to embrace your inner hobbit — grounded, cozy, and full of heart. The Shire isn’t just a place; it’s a feeling of comfort, connection, and, many times, delight in the simple things. This week, I challenge you to let your wardrobe reflect that spirit with warm tones, soft textures, and an air of rustic fantasy.

And whether you’re gathering with friends for a harvest feast or just curling up with a cup of tea and a good book, Hobbit Harvest fashion is all about feeling at home in your clothes. So this season, let’s dress with the shire in mind — not just in what we wear, but even in how we live. Find beauty in comfort, magic in simplicity, and joy in the quiet moments, and join us to channel your inner Hobbit through this week’s style quest!

How to participate

  1. Choose: Pick one cozy, earthy piece from your wardrobe — think cable-knit sweaters, corduroy trousers, linen skirts, or soft flannels.
  2. Create: Layer your chosen item with something that adds rustic charm — a wool vest, leather boots, or an accessory with woodland energy (a leaf-shaped pin, woven belt, or autumn-toned scarf – bonus points if you add a “ring of power” to your look…).
  3. Capture: Share your outfit with #VostraModaQuest, or reply to this email with your entry.

The most inspiring outfit will be featured next week! Please let me know if you would like to remain anonymous.

2 Tips to help you slay

For this week’s quest, I’ve chosen to layer a cropped green vest over a cream off-the-shoulder sweater paired with burnt orange linen trousers, along with fun “harvest” accents like a tankard (they come in pints?). I even pulled out my Hobbit door necklace for my Hobbit-inspired look and to pull the green out from the vest!

Your look could be as simple as pairing earth tone neutrals with autumnal colors for a nature-inspired look. Add a vest or cozy cardigan combo for a homey but fantasy-forward look that’s a perfect fit for a hobbit harvest gathering! Don’t forget the best accessory for an adventure-ready hobbit, a simple, elegant, but powerful ring – well, powerfully stylish that is!

Our style suggestions

  1. Texture tells a tale: Mix and match fabrics like wool, linen, and corduroy for that tactile, lived-in feel. Think of textures that whisper, “There’s pie cooling on the windowsill that will pair perfectly with a hot cup of tea!”
  2. Fall forward footwear: While hobbits might go barefoot, we can focus on simple loafers that are ready for cozy taverns and casual forest walks, or perhaps some sturdy leather boots for an adventure or two through the fall foliage.

The Mx.

Our Mx Hobbit Harvest flatlay leans into the darker shades of autumn while embracing comforting materials! A mandarin collar white linen shirt layered beneath a gray wool vest and paired with burgundy joggers and a colorblock gray and burgundy cardigan makes for the ultimate cozy combo! We added some stylish details with gray and burgundy wool boots, a silver pocketwatch, a burgundy and floral print scarf, and a gray hooded jacket to keep you warm on the crispest of mornings. Our final touch for this Hobbit-inspired outfit is a black and burgundy ring made of wood and tungsten materials!

The Ms.

Our Ms Hobbit Harvest flatlay features a combination of solid and prints in earthy neutrals and nature-inspired prints! A silky tan blouse layered beneath a faux leather corset with paisley embossing pairs beautifully with a faux leather floral and fruit print skirt. To increase the cozy factor, we've added fleece-lined tights under this outfit and an olive green cardigan on top (and it has pockets!). Green and gold earrings pair nicely with a green satin headband, and we complete the look with brown leather lace-up flats and a gold and brown wooden ring!
