Discover your quick change power piece

Hey, Style Slayers — Happy Moda Monday!

Welcome Inside the Closet! In this edition, we’re sharing 1 quest, 2 tips, and 3 looks to help you embrace your unique style superpowers — Let’s step in! 👇

1 Quest for you to try

Ever feel like your day has multiple plot twists? One moment, you’re on a work Zoom, the next, you’re heading to a casual coffee get-together, a dazzling date night, or other spontaneous adventure (AKA: walking the dog or errands typically). But who has time for a full wardrobe change?

Enter “The Great Fashion Migration”— we’re talking about the art of building a look that effortlessly shifts from one setting to another with just one or two strategic swaps. Think of it as your Clark Kent/Superman glasses moment—a quick transformation that makes all the difference!

Your quest this week: Create an outfit that effortlessly migrates from day to night with just one swap. What’s your “quick-change” power piece—the thing that instantly transforms your look?

How to participate

  1. Choose: Start with a solid base layer. Your base outfit should be comfortable, stylish, and adaptable. This could be: A sleek jumpsuit (can go from business casual to date night with just accessories), a midi dress (layer for work, remove layers for play), or tailored trousers + a fitted top (change shoes & accessories for instant mood shift).
  2. Create: Here’s where the magic happens! One quick change = a totally new vibe. For example, try swapping your shoes: sneakers ➝ strappy sandals or sleek boots for an elevated look; or a top layer swap like a blazer or button-up ➝ off-shoulder top, sheer overlay, or fun printed jacket.
  3. Capture: Share your outfit with #VostraModaQuest, or reply to this email with your entry.

2 Tips to help you slay

For this week’s quest, I’ve chosen my abstract floral print button-down as my transformative piece! I chose this as my base “item” to show you how I made 5 different outfits that range from casual to formal, even with a colorful item! The main takeaway? With just a bit of strategy, you can build an outfit that lets you seamlessly move between worlds – no phone booth required!

This applies to seasonal transitions, too! As the weather warms up, your transitional outfit should be breathable & light – stick to linen, cotton, or airy natural fabrics to make the most of your layers. For more color-pop potential, try playing with pastels, brights, or sunset-inspired hues that can work for both professional & fun settings.

Our style suggestions

  1. Get creative: Planning to hit the beach straight from work? Why not wear your one-piece as a body suit beneath your skirt and blazer? Swap the heels for flip-flops, toss the work-wear into your back seat, and don’t forget your towel and sunscreen!
  2. Pop that color: Don’t be afraid to play around with pops of color that can be balanced with neutrals for a lower-key dress code or mixed with prints for fun settings!
Bri shows how versatile one good item can be to transform your outfit from casual to formal using an abstract floral print button down in different outfits. Top left is paired with orange shorts and tucked in, top right is worn buttoned up with a black corset over top, bottom left is buttoned all the way up and worn untucked over top of orange shorts, bottom middle is worn tied into a strapless top and layered beneath a maxi skirt, and bottom right is worn over top of a blue jumpsuit, unbuttoned and knotted at the waist!
