Hey, Style Slayers — Happy Moda Monday!
Welcome Inside the Closet! In this edition, we’re sharing 1 quest, 2 tips, and 3 looks to help you embrace your unique style superpowers — Let’s step in! 👇
1 Quest for you to try
If you’ve ever seen the movie Miss Congeniality, you’ll likely remember the cult classic scene where interviewer Stan Fields asks Cheryl Frasier (Miss Rhode Island) about her “perfect date”. Her response? “That’s a tough one. I’d have to say…April 25th – because it’s not too hot, not too cold. All you need is a light jacket!” While that wasn’t exactly the answer they were expecting, it still works well for our theme this week, which is in fact “Dressing for the perfect date” – whatever that actually looks like for you!
So whether you plan to go out on the calendar day itself, or need some outfit ideas for your next fun and memorable date with a partner, we’ve got you covered – light jacket optional!
How to participate
- Choose: Plan where you are going on your date! This is a great starting point to help you craft an outfit that feels functional and fashionable for the event itself!
- Create: Combine items to make an outfit that fits the theme of your date, in addition to the functional needs for your activities – because you know we love a good theme here!
- Capture: Share your outfit with #VostraModaQuest, or reply to this email with your entry.

2 Tips to help you slay
For this week’s quest, I’ve chosen to share my own recent date idea and themed outfit as an example! A few weekends back, I surprised my wife with a day trip to the Museum of Science, and as a lover of space, dinosaurs, and science as a whole, it was right up her alley!
— I went with a “space theme” myself, combining a casual graphic tee and jeans with a bright blazer and bold earrings as a way to dress it up and feel fashionable, while still comfy as we explored and checked off items on the scavenger hunt I put together for her (and for myself-let’s be honest)!
Our style suggestions
- Houston, we have a theme: While you don’t have to plan out a whole scavenger hunt for your partner as I did, just having a theme for your date can inspire a fun way to “dress up,” and an opportunity for creativity during your adventure together, whether it calls for a light jacket or not! Lean into the “theme” when putting together your look, whether it’s with a graphic tee or on-point accessories (hello space shirt and star earring!), or even a color palette that embodies where you’re going!
- Don’t sacrifice comfort for fashion: No matter how cute or sexy certain outfits may look, if you can’t actually move around in them, or engage in the activities planned for your date out and about in the real world, it’s not worth it. Hence, the colorblock sneakers I paired with my own outfit over the metallic heels I could have worn- because no one wants to worry about blisters when they’re mid scavenger hunt, or their pants being too tight when they’re eating a delicious meal at that cool new restaurant!
3 Looks for you to shop
Upgrade your wardrobe with just one click! Shop these fresh looks to trend the multiverse and never go out of style.
The Mr.
Our Mr flatlay is inspired by an “active date theme”, an escape room evening! A casual but easy to move in outfit incorporating black, red, and blue for the color palette with a red jacket, blue jeans, and black and red shoes, watch, and black belt/ring. And leaning into the “escape room” idea, we focused on some “key” elements, like a key necklace and a keyblade print shirt. Bonus: this outfit also works well for a gamer’s night in if you’re a Kingdom Hearts fan!
The Mx.
Our Mx flatlay is inspired by an “outdoor date theme”, specifically a visit to the Botanical Gardens! A cozy layered look of a beige knit sweater and green trousers, paired with a floral jacquard print jacket of rust red, burnt orange, browns, and greens. Warm brown neutrals complement this look through accents like Chelsea boots, a belt, and layered leather bracelets, and some additional floral touches to enhance the theme from gold collar pins and a gold floral ring complete this spring-inspired outfit!
The Ms.
Our Ms flatlay is inspired by a “Space date theme”, perfect for a day trip to the science museum! Cute and casual but still comfy and chic for Spring with a cream knit top, solar print skirt, and dark wash jean jacket. We paired a tan belt and tan and cream flats, as well as some cosmic accessories that enhance a spacey theme, from a solar system bracelet to matching earrings and pendant set!
