Elevate your outfit with floral flair

Hey, Style Slayers — Happy Moda Monday!

Welcome Inside the Closet! In this edition, we’re sharing 1 quest, 2 tips, and 3 looks to help you embrace your unique style superpowers — Let’s step in! 👇

1 Quest for you to try

It’s time to shake off the winter blues with a touch of floral flair! Whether you’re a fan of soft pastels, bold botanical prints, or delicate floral accessories, incorporating florals into your wardrobe can bring a fresh, vibrant energy to your style. Inspired by our recent “Bloom with Style: A Floral Fashion Affair” workshop, we’re diving into how to make florals work for you this upcoming season, and how to start right now!

How to participate

  1. Choose: Select a floral item from your wardrobe or pick up a new-to-you piece from a local consignment store (like M&C Clothing and Gifts!).
  2. Create: Style your floral item in a way that feels fresh and uniquely you. Experiment with layers, colors, and accessories. Feeling intimidated? Try one of our style tips from below when creating your look!
  3. Capture: Share your outfit with #VostraModaQuest, or reply to this email with your entry.

2 Tips to help you slay

For this week’s quest, I chose to style my floral kimono for the “Bloom with Style” workshop! To make it more edgy, I paired my kimono with a pair of pleather pants, and layered a knit blouse beneath for warmth (it was pretty chilly that night!). I topped it off with a tuxedo vest which helped create a more fitted silhouette, and some floral d20 earrings!

Remember, if head-to-toe florals feel overwhelming, start small with floral-inspired accents. Think scarves, earrings, shoes, or a statement handbag to add a touch of botanical beauty to your outfit. Or you can add a neutral piece, like a solid-colored belt or jacket, between two floral prints to give the eye a place to rest and help tie the look together.

Our style suggestions

  1. Play with Scale: Combine florals of different sizes for a balanced look. Pair a small, dainty floral print with a bold, oversized floral print to create contrast and dimension.
  2. Stick to a Color Palette: Choose prints that share one or two common colors to create harmony in your outfit. This helps your mixed floral look feel intentional rather than clashing.
