1 Quest for you to try
This week is the start of a new season – that’s right my pumpkin-spice-loving Fall Folk, it’s autumn! To celebrate, I challenge you to embrace fall with a foliage-inspired outfit, be it with colors or prints reminiscent of nature’s seasonal shift!
How to participate
- Choose: Select an Autumn inspired color palette to start
- Create: Layer items from your wardrobe using your Autumn color palette so you’re cozy enough for a crisp morning and comfortable for warm afternoons, but still stylish all day!
- Capture: Share your outfit with #VostraModaQuest, or reply to this email with your entry.
The most inspiring outfit will be featured next week! Please let me know if you would like to remain anonymous.
2 Tips to help you slay
For this week’s quest, I’ve selected a subtle start to Fall with a color palette of brown and green, and even included my newly dyed blonde hair in the color palette for some yellow in our fall foliage inspiration (don’t worry, I’ll be showing some reds and oranges in next week’s look, so stay tuned)! Gold jewelry helps to boost some warmth in my skin tone, so I opt for gold or rose gold accessories when wearing more muted autumn colors to complement each other!
When layering fall looks I like to think about my “base layer” first, and make sure I feel comfortable and confident with that as a standalone outfit. Then, I would add “second layer” items, like a light jacket or a sweater, and items like scarves or hats for additional warmth, and then I have a complete look for cool mornings that can be easily transitioned to the simplified base layer when the weather warms up without needing to go home and change my entire outfit in order to be comfortable and still stylish!
Our style suggestions
- Take inspiration from the New England Fall foliage for your color palette! This is a great time of year to try out more muted, warm tones of red, orange, or yellow. Specifically, look for auburn, burgundy, burnt orange, amber, olive green, or mustard yellow if you’ve never tried a fall color palette before! All of these colors pair very nicely with neutrals like black, brown, and even indigo (think blue denim)!
- Feel that crisp breeze? Time to start planning out those layers! Fall mornings and evenings tend to be cool while midday still gets pretty warm here in New England, so I recommend wearing a short sleeve or sleeveless base layer and adding a long sleeve jacket, cardigan, or sweater over the top that’s easy to remove when the sun comes out, and to pop back on when the wind blows! Scarves are another great accessory and functional for adding some warmth in addition to a cozy aesthetic to your look!
