Hey, Style Slayers — Happy Moda Monday!
Welcome Inside the Closet! In this edition, we’re sharing 1 quest, 2 tips, and 3 looks to help you embrace your unique style superpowers — Let’s step in! 👇
1 Quest for you to try
The holiday season is fast approaching, and November is the perfect time to start embracing all the fun, food, and festivities that come with it. But before we dive headfirst into sequins and holiday party dresses, let’s talk about the in-between: cozy layers, casually chic outfits, and looks that can take you from a Friendsgiving feast to a football watch party without missing a beat.
This month, I’m taking inspiration from the traditions that make November special. Think rich cranberry reds, pumpkin-spice neutrals, warm chocolate browns, and olive greens. Add some texture, a few strategic layers, and a little personality, and you’ve got a wardrobe ready for whatever the season brings. That’s why November’s Style Quest is to create an outfit inspired by one of your favorite November traditions or get-togethers!
How to participate
- Choose: What’s on your November calendar? Choose one get-together or tradition to inspire your look:
Friendsgiving feast – comfortable but chic, and ready for seconds!
Game Day Gathering – team colors, sporty touches, and fun layers.
Family Recipe Exchange – nostalgic, warm, and inspired by family traditions.
Friends & Games Get Together – playful, relaxed, and full of personality.
Cozy Night In – your favorite elevated lounge look for a night of movies, snacks, or crafting. - Create: Build your Fall-themed outfit using at least three of these elements: A seasonal color: Cranberry, burgundy, pumpkin, olive, mustard, chocolate, or cream. A cozy layer: Cardigan, sweater, blazer, vest, scarf, or jacket. A texture: Corduroy, denim, knitwear, suede, leather, or flannel. A personal touch: A fandom-inspired accessory, favorite jewelry, fun graphic tee, family heirloom, or something that tells your story.
- Capture: Share your outfit with #VostraModaQuest, or reply to this email with your entry and a little explanation of the November tradition or gathering that inspired your look. I can’t wait to see how you’re bringing your personality to the holiday season!

2 Tips to help you slay
Speaking of dressing for the occasion… remember my cranberry and popcorn skirt back from my blog days? Yes, I really did that! Sometimes holiday-inspired fashion means going all out with a DIY creation, but you certainly don’t have to turn yourself into a walking Thanksgiving centerpiece to have some fun with your outfits.
— I encourage you to dress for old and new traditions!
November can be full of little traditions: Friendsgiving dinners, family recipe swaps, board game nights, football Sundays, movie marathons, and holiday craft exchanges. Let the activity inspire your outfit! A cozy matching set for a movie night, a fun graphic tee for a game-day gathering, or a polished sweater-and-trouser combination for dinner with friends. The best outfit is one that lets you participate while still feeling comfortable and enjoying the moment.
Our style suggestions
- Layer Up Without Bulking Up: November weather can be unpredictable, so layering is your best friend. Try a fitted long-sleeve shirt under a sweater, a turtleneck beneath a blazer, or a cardigan over a simple dress. Finish with a coat or jacket that adds structure without swallowing your outfit. The trick? Mix fitted and relaxed pieces to keep your silhouette intentional.
- Let Your Favorite Fall Colors Do the Talking: Take inspiration from the November table! Cranberry, deep burgundy, pumpkin orange, mustard, olive, chocolate brown, and warm cream are all great colors to work into your wardrobe. You don’t need to wear them head-to-toe, either. Try a burgundy sweater with dark denim, an olive jacket with cream trousers, or a rust-colored accessory to give a neutral outfit a seasonal refresh.
