Hey, Style Slayers — Happy Moda Monday!
Welcome Inside the Closet! In this edition, we’re sharing 1 quest, 2 tips, and 3 looks to help you embrace your unique style superpowers — Let’s step in! 👇
1 Quest for you to try
The season of gathering, laughing, and filling your plate (maybe twice) is here — and your outfits deserve to celebrate the events right along with you! This week’s style quest is all about feast-ready fits: looks that move, stretch, and perhaps shimmer, but keep you comfortable through every cheers, awkward family moment, last-minute side quest, and slice of pie!
How to participate
- Choose: Pick one comfort-first piece you love wearing (think pants with stretch in them, cozy sweater, knit dress, soft trousers, etc.).
- Create: Build a leveled-up look for the Holidays using that item, and one of the following: a glam accessory, a layer you can shed, a festive texture, or a smarter color choice, then combine so it’s gathering-ready!
- Capture: Share your outfit with #VostraModaQuest, or reply to this email with your entry.
The most inspiring outfit will be featured next week! Please let me know if you would like to remain anonymous.
2 Tips to help you slay
For this week’s quest, I’ve chosen a sleeveless burgundy knit maxi dress paired with a cream cardigan and heeled boots. I love this color combo for Fall, and the cozy factor of this fit with the soft materials. Plus, if I get too warm, I can remove the cardigan, or if it’s chilly, I can add a pair of fleece-lined tights beneath to stay warm!
— Your look could be as simple as a pair of velvet leggings and a high-low sweater in a rich color, or instead, wear something comfy but focus on bold, fun accents, like a statement necklace, printed scarf, or stacked rings for a fashionable but multi-course-friendly outfit!
Our style suggestions
- Feast-friendly fabrics: Holiday tables often come with second helpings and long conversations while seated — your clothes should allow for either or both! Look for stretch knits that move with you, jersey dresses and sweater tops, High-rise elastic waists, or soft ponte fabric for polished comfort. All of these materials will keep you comfortable during a long sit-down meal while still allowing you to look great in those annual photos!
- Layers = your personal thermostat: Holiday gatherings can mean warm kitchens, crowded rooms, and those occasional “is the thermostat broken, or is it just me?” moments. If you don’t feel like sticking your face out the window for some air (unless you need the excuse to take a break from the fam…) try a base layer that feels good on its own, such as a tank, tee, or sleek knit paired with a removable wrap, cardigan, kimono, blazer, or chore coat with an interesting texture or pattern for visual interest. Layering lets you cool down without sacrificing the outfit…or wondering if this is the time that your head may actually explode from overheating…
