1 Quest for you to try
If you know me, you know I’m methodical and love a good plan, whether it’s in my day-to-day life, work schedule, or even my own closet. That’s why this week, I’ve decided to lean into my own challenge of “letting the dice” decide my fate…or in this case, my outfit! But not just any dice – style dice! You can try a similar method yourself, for this week’s style quest, whether you’re using a classic set of 6-sided dice, or a range of options from a TTRPG set like D4s, D8s, D10s, D12s, or D20s, depending on how many items you want to choose from!
How to participate
- Choose: Select a set of dice, be it “outfit dice” like I found at Michaels, or if you choose a set of dice you already own, assign specific articles of clothing to your dice and the number of items you’ll be selecting from.
- Create: Roll for outfit! See what combinations you can come up with based on your rolls
- Capture: Share your outfit with #VostraModaQuest, or reply to this email with your entry.

2 Tips to help you slay
For this week’s quest, I found a set of “ootd dice” that can be rolled to create a full outfit and plan to try it out over the weekend! While I’ve used a similar method to create outfits for Renaissance Faire season by assigning a number to each article and rolling a dice of the same number to select the pieces, I’ve never used a dice that had the fashion items already on it!
— If leaving a full outfit up to fate is too intimidating, try just rolling dice for accessories or shoes as a way to try something different than you normally might, but on a smaller scale!
Our style suggestions
- Create Cohesion With Color: While we can leave some things up to chance, going in with just a little bit of a plan will make you feel more put together, regardless of what the dice decide! I reccomend choosing a color palette to start, so regardless of which items you pick, they’re either complementary colors, or can create a monochrome outfit with ease.
- Don’t Forget To “Style” It: While the dice may be selecting your main pieces, you can still have creative liberties with how you choose to wear said items! Even simple adjustments can make an outfit go from a nat 1 to a critical success! You’ll be amazed at what rolling, cuffing, tucking, or tying items can do to create a drastically different silhouette that you never thought about until now!

Custom dice: want to create your very own “outfit selection” dice? Why not create custom dice on Etsy and add random categories of clothing you already own (like a collared shirt or lightweight jacket), then roll for an even more personalized outfit!

All the options: Have a lot of items you want to choose from, like accessories? Use a D20 and lay out 20 pieces, then assign a number to each article and roll for your randomly selected item!
The Ms.
OOTD dice: want to really let the dice decide your fate? Use already printed “outfit of the day” dice with different fashion terms on them to put together a unique look!
