Quest for cozy fashion

Hey, Style Slayers — Happy Moda Monday!

Welcome Inside the Closet! In this edition, we’re sharing 1 quest, 2 tips, and 3 looks to help you embrace your unique style superpowers — Let’s step in! 👇

1 Quest for you to try

With the change of season, and daylight savings (did you remember to adjust your clock?), the days grow shorter, and that crisp chill in the air starts to creep in. For many of us, it’s the sign to begin our annual wardrobe migration—tucking away airy summer pieces and reaching for comfy layers that feel like a warm hug. But cozy doesn’t have to mean hiding under bulky sweaters or losing your personal style under a blanket of beige!

This week, we’re embarking on The Quest for Cozy Fashion — where comfort and confidence meet, and your wardrobe can create a safe haven from the cold and the chaos. Grab a mug of something steamy, craft a new playlist, and embrace your sense of adventure by questing for a “cozy style” that is fashionable, intentional, and uniquely you!

How to participate

    1. Choose: Pick 1 cozy piece from your wardrobe that you always reach for when you need comfort — maybe it’s a cardigan, joggers, or that new scarf you can’t stop wearing!
    2. Create: Combine it with other Fall favorite items to build an outfit that feels both comfortable and confidently “you.” Try adding one element of structure, like a statement accessory or boots, to elevate the look!
    3. Capture: Share your outfit with #VostraModaQuest, or reply to this email with your entry (bonus points if you’re holding your favorite fall beverage)!

2 Tips to help you slay

For this week’s quest, I’ve chosen to show off a newer cardigan I purchased for the colder weather! While it does have some beige in it, having other neutrals or colors, like burgundy, in the pattern, and emphasizing those in other areas of the outfit, such as with my knit top, gives the outfit a bit more color while still creating cozy vibes!

— Your look could focus on a single color, creating a monochrome look in your favorite fall shade, but creating dimension to the outfit through different materials! Play around with your favorite cozy items this week and see what you can come up with!

Our style suggestions

  1. Treasure your textures: Mixing soft, tactile fabrics — like fleece, sherpa, velvet, or knit — adds instant coziness and visual depth. The secret to why this works is the contrast! Try pairing a plush sweater with faux leather pants, or a chunky knit scarf over a silky dress for more depth and dimension, like we mentioned earlier!
  2. Cozy ≠ sloppy: The trick to looking put-together in soft, oversized silhouettes is balance. If your top is loose and fluffy, pair it with fitted jeans or structured boots, or define your waist with a belt or a half-tuck — these small adjustments help your outfit say “intentional” instead of “hibernating.”

3 Looks for you to shop

Upgrade your wardrobe with just one click! Shop these fresh looks to trend the multiverse and never go out of style.

The Mr.

The Mr cozy look focuses on a monochrome gray to black look and features joggers as the main "cozy" item. To elevate this item, we paired it with a fitted top and structured zip-up jacket, plus some accents like a black ring, watch, knit beanie, and gray and black boots. A final cozy touch that can be added on colder days is a soft gray scarf for extra warmth and comfort!

The Mx.

The Mx cozy look is centered around a cozy multi-colored striped sweater! We chose two colors from the sweater, burgundy and a goldish-brown, to complete our color palette and use in the rest of the look as well! A pair of gold velvet pants adds a different sort of cozy texture to this look, as well as a burgundy jacket and golden brown felt cap. Additional burgundy accents throughout the outfit include a belt, watch, sneakers, and a silver ring with various shades of purples and blues that tie back into the sweater colors!

The Ms.

The Ms cozy look is centered around a navy blue sweater dress with red and pink cuffs! For extra warmth and coziness, we paired this dress with fleece-lined tights, and to create some structure, we've added a pink belt at the waist. Additional pops of color to incorporate the pattern on the dress cuff include red ankle boots, a red knit beret, red and pink earrings, pink sunglasses, and a simple gold ring to match the gold hardware on the belt! Fashion forward and cozy too!
