Tips to help you slay

The Moda Method: Your Guide to a Seasonal Closet Refresh

  • Fit (your body) – Try on each piece and assess whether it still fits your body comfortably and flatters your shape.
  • Function (for your lifestyle) – Consider how well the item serves your lifestyle and daily needs—does it work for your current routine and wardrobe?
  • Flatter (your personality) – Ask yourself if the piece still aligns with your personal style goals and makes you feel confident. If it no longer represents you, it may be time to let it go.

Need some closet organization ideas? Check out our suggestions below!

Our organization suggestions

  1. Store by Season & Category – Put away heavy winter pieces and prioritize lightweight layers, bright colors, and transitional essentials. You can use large Rubbermaid bins, or even luggage that isn’t currently utilized for storing during off seasons.
  2. Define Your Spring Staples – Identify go-to pieces for the season, such as floral dresses, denim jackets, breathable fabrics, and versatile shoes. Keep some layering options available for cool mornings and warm afternoons.
  3. Arrange for Easy Access – Display items in a way that inspires you—organize by color, occasion, or outfit pairings for a stress-free getting-ready routine when you open your closet door! You might even think about investing in new wooden or velvet hangers for consistency through your closet!

3 Tools for organizing your closet

Upgrade your wardrobe with just one click! Shop these organization tools to tame your closet monsters in style!

Tip 1

Storage tips: get rid of the broken or bent hangers in your closet and replace them with wood or velvet lined hangers! Depending on your wardrobe needs, look into purchasing a shirt (no bar across the bottom), suit (bar across the bottom), or pants/skirt (bar shaped with clips on the bottom) hangers for your items. As you wear things, flip the hanger in the opposite direction so by the end of the season you can see how many things you actually wore at a glance!

Tip 2

Storage tips: use vertical space with hanging shelves, or over the door shoe racks! You can also store off-season clothing in plastic containers so you can see what is inside, and stack them by season!

Tip 3

Storage tips: Store your off season items in your luggage if it's not being used frequently - a great way to save space and keep everything organized in an easy to grab spot should you suddenly need it (especially for last minute trips to a location with a different climate than where you are currently)!
