Hey, Style Slayers — Happy Moda Monday!
Welcome Inside the Closet! In this edition, we’re sharing 1 quest, 2 tips, and 3 looks to help you embrace your unique style superpowers — Let’s step in! 👇
1 Quest for you to try
Ever felt you like had to sacrifice your wow factor for warmth when it comes to date nights in winter? This week we’re focused on keeping you fashionable while maintaining your wardrobe’s function when it comes to winter weather and freezing temperatures on the radar! I invite you to join us for this week’s quest as we help you create “A warm but wow-worthy date night look”!
How to participate
- Choose: Decide on the mood you want to bring to your winter date night—romantic, cozy, or bold. Keep the weather in mind and pick a base outfit that works for the temperature and activity.
- Create: Layer up with thermals, sweaters, and/or stylish outerwear. Add accessories like scarves, gloves, and jewelry to balance warmth and style. Don’t forget weather-ready footwear to keep you steady and chic for those outdoor adventures (or walking to the car safely and in style)!
- Capture: Share your outfit with #VostraModaQuest, or reply to this email with your entry to show us how you conquered the cold with style this week!
The most inspiring outfit will be featured next week! Please let me know if you would like to remain anonymous.
2 Tips to help you slay
Winter anniversaries or date nights in winter can be hard to dress for – as someone celebrating their 17th anniversary this month and as a long-time New England resident, I’m very familiar with thinking I’ll get to wear one outfit only to wake up to an ice storm on our special day, and need to make some minor adjustments…or at least add more layers!
— The key is to balance warmth with style so you can enjoy your evening without worrying about the cold. But if the weather still won’t cooperate, don’t be afraid to let your inner child out, don that insulated and cozy snowsuit, and go build a snowman or have a snowball fight together. Or you can always snuggle up in style with a blanket or snuggie as your evening-wear accessory – Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone if you won’t!
Here are some suggestions for those nights when you can actually shovel off the car and make it out on the town:
Our style suggestions
- Make a statement: Invest in a statement coat that can elevate any outfit. A tailored wool coat, a chic puffer jacket, or a faux fur coat can add elegance and warmth to your look.
- Step out in style: Opt for ankle boots or knee-high boots with a thick sole to keep your feet warm. Look for options with faux fur lining for added comfort. Bonus points if they’re waterproof and have a good grip/tread on the bottom for those icy walks between the restaurant and the car!
