Hey, Style Slayers — Happy Moda Monday!
Welcome Inside the Closet! In this edition, we’re sharing 1 quest, 2 tips, and 3 looks to help you embrace your unique style superpowers — Let’s step in! 👇
1 Quest for you to try
This week, you are pushing style boundaries by stepping into your villain era! This quest is perfect for those who want to channel their dark side (stylishly) during October, but take it even one step further. I challenge you to bring the drama by making it feel runway-walkable in honor of our first ever New Hampshire Fashion Week Event on Oct 13th and create a Villanous Vogue inspired look!
How to participate
- Choose: Select your villain archetype for inspiration – be it from a fantasy movie, sci-fi book, or even a favorite Disney villain, use their looks as a starting point, then make sure to practice your bad-guy monologue (all great villains have a monologue prepared)
- Create: Combine your edgy clothing with unique textures and accessories that have details like metal, leather, or velvet for a stunning head-to-toe look that will have you convincing folks to “Join the dark side”
- Capture: Share your outfit with #VostraModaQuest, or reply to this email with your entry.
The most inspiring outfit will be featured next week! Please let me know if you would like to remain anonymous.
2 Tips to help you slay
For this week’s quest, I’ve chosen a dramatic black jumpsuit with a deep plunge and a long overlay skirt – because this quest called for something extra, and our villain era answered the call! I also incorporated some edgier accents with a black leather harness for texture, tall black pleather boots, and silver sword earrings because nothing says “I’m fashionable, but I still mean business” like shiny, stabby jewelry.
— Embrace edgy fashion and push the boundaries of traditional style norms by using unconventional silhouettes, dramatic makeup looks, and statement accessories to bring the drama. And don’t be afraid to stand out from the crowd – after all, sometimes it’s ‘good to be bad’…at least with this style quest!
Our style suggestions
- Embrace dark and edgy colors like black, deep purple, and blood red to convey a sense of mystery and danger. You can also play with textures like leather, velvet, and metallic fabrics to add depth and interest to your outfit and give off a villainous vibe.
- Incorporate bold and dramatic silhouettes, such as sharp shoulders, exaggerated sleeves, and structured shapes to exude power and dominance. Confidence is key when rocking a villain-inspired runway fashion look so own your style, take up space, and channel your inner antagonist with pride.

Last week’s quest success
Last week’s quest was to create a pumpkin spice latte inspired look. Here’s how Lindsay took up the challenge with this amazing outfit:
This Latte Look is going to be her Halloween costume, but it was too fun to not share here for last week’s PSL challenge!
— Quite literally, a perfect example of a PSL outfit using not only the colors we talked about with creams, oranges, and browns but also using a coffee cup as an outfit was on point (and it certainly made me smile)! 10/10!
Until next week!
