The pumpkin palette

Hey, Style Slayers — Happy Moda Monday!

Welcome Inside the Closet! In this edition, we’re sharing 1 quest, 2 tips, and 3 looks to help you embrace your unique style superpowers — Let’s step in! 👇

1 Quest for you to try

This week marks the start of October, and with it comes the golden glow of autumn leaves, the start of spooky season, and, of course, a pumpkin everything! From soft creams to deep rusts, vibrant oranges to earthy browns, this seasonal favorite isn’t just for your latte! It’s the perfect fit for your fall wardrobe, too. Whether you’re leaning into cozy harvest vibes or channeling a more moody autumn elegance, this is the time to embrace pumpkin in your food, your decor, and even in your outfits!

How to participate

  1. Choose: Pick one shade from the pumpkin palette (rust, terracotta, orange, cream, or brown).
  2. Create: Build an outfit around that color, weaving it in through layers, accessories, or even makeup. Bonus points for mixing textures!
  3. Capture: Share your outfit with #VostraModaQuest, or reply to this email with your entry – bonus points if you take a selfie while IN a pumpkin patch, standing under the turning leaves, or with your go-to fall drink in hand!

The most inspiring outfit will be featured next week! Please let me know if you would like to remain anonymous.

2 Tips to help you slay

For this week’s quest, I’ve chosen to use a few colors from the Pumpkin Palette in my outfit! A casual cream t-shirt with a pair of burnt orange, high-waisted linen pants, a brown fedora, and some gold heels (those were added just for fun)! Not pictured was the pumpkin spice latte that kept me caffeinated while taking photos!

But your look could be as simple as focusing on accessories – items like scarves, earrings, hats, and bags in pumpkin-inspired tones are an easy way to dip into the palette if you’re hesitant to commit to a full look! Or, try a graphic tee with a pumpkin or other autumnal theme that uses the pumpkin color palette! Have fun with it!

Our style suggestions

  1. But orange is too bright: For my color-phobic friends, a little reminder that you don’t need to wear neon orange to embrace this pumpkiny challenge! Try a softer terracotta, burnt orange, or peach tones that suit your complexion and feel wearable instead!
  2. Grounding your gourd: Pair orange and rust with tans, creams, or deep browns for a warm, balanced look—or try black for a bold, Halloween-adjacent contrast. And just like pumpkin vines, olive, sage, or deep forest green make the perfect complementary accent for your autumn outfits. Bonus for my Fall Color-fans: a plum or navy blue can also be a beautiful addition to your pumpkin palette inspiration!
