Fear not, my stylish adventurer—you can “armor up” in ways that celebrate your fandom, embrace your body, and keep you looking and feeling cool while playing mermaids (you know you want to)! Let’s conquer the element of H20 (and your inner critic) together!

2 Tips to help you slay
For this week’s quest, I’m going to have my own style adventure as I’m on a quest to purchase a new swimsuit (wish me luck!)! No matter your size, swimwear can be a challenge when faced with something that not only fits but functions for your needs, be that lounging, swimming, or running through a sprinkler. For me, a two-piece that has either a hook closure or pullover style top (no string tie bikinis or halters for me, thanks!) that I can throw a pair of shorts on with and still feel comfortable walking around in would be ideal…
— But the most important part of any swimwear attire? Wear what feels like a celebration. The real “beach body” is your body, already equipped with maximum charisma. Want to wear a strappy suit or deep-cut monokini? Do it. Prefer full coverage or armor-inspired shaping? Own it. You don’t owe anyone a justification for your joy. Remember, confidence is the final accessory for any outfit, including a swimsuit. EVERY body is beach-ready when it’s focused on having fun!

- All about that base…layer: Use your swimsuit as a base layer for your look. Whether it’s suits with nerdy prints (think retro game pixel art, comic motifs, or magical girl vibes) or solid suits, you can find fun ways to accessorize that complement your look. Try looking for swimsuits that mimic bodysuit or unitard silhouettes—they can transition seamlessly into “daywear” looks when layered without needing to change from beachside to boardwalk cafe ready.
- Creating a pocket dimension: If you’re beach-trekking and sans pockets, consider layering with utility belts, side bags, or even garter pouches. These add a fun cosplay-inspired flavor while still being functional, and giving you somewhere to stash sunscreen, EDC (everyday carry) items, or even some dice – you never know!
